Meet Leontine
Leontine Specker Turhal brings over 20 years of experience in sustainability, development impact, and crisis response, with a strong focus on fragile and conflict-affected contexts. She currently serves as the Head of the Sustainability Strategy and Policy division at FMO, the Dutch entrepreneurial development bank, where she advises senior leadership on impact management, climate action, and reducing inequalities across a multi-billion-euro investment portfolio.
Before joining FMO, Leontine spent a decade with UNDP in senior global and regional roles, including global leadership positions related to inclusive development policy and large-scale migration. She also served as advisor to the UN Secretary General for 2 years. Her work has consistently bridged policy, strategy, and on-the-ground implementation, with a strong emphasis on inclusive economic recovery, green jobs, and private sector engagement.
